Playhouse Disney at Hollywood and Vine

On Monday 10/27/08 we went to the character lunch at Hollywood and Vine. The restaurant was not crowded and we were seated within a few minutes. Our family has food intolerances (we are all gluten free) and we always need to see the chef. The chef promptly arrived at our table and took my husband on a tour of the buffet. There were a nice variety of things we could eat and the chef made us a plate of sliced beef without the sauce. We asked if they had any gluten free bread and within five minutes a nice plate of rolls arrived at out table. The children enjoyed the characters. The show was a little loud, but they liked it. Overall, we were there four about an hour and left quite full. The service was great and our waitress was always nearby when we needed anything.
50’s Prime Time Cafe

My family and I ate lunch at the 50's Prime Time on Wednesday, August 26. The waitress suggested the Gluten Free version of the Chicken Pot Pie. It was delicious! It had the same filing as the normal pot pie, but instead of a crust it came open face on gluten free rolls. It was so filing that I did not have room for dessert!

We ate dinner at the 50’s Prime Time Café on Sunday evening 10/26/08. The park and the restaurant were very crowded when we arrived. We were seated about a half hour after our ADR. After a long day of traveling our tired and starving children were literally falling apart. By the time Cousin Laura came over to greet us, our six-year-old daughter actually had her head on the table crying. Cousin Laura was great and promptly brought them each a bowl of fruit. Our family has food intolerances (all of us are gluten free) and we always need to see the chef before ordering.
The chef came out and went over the menus with us. We ordered the salmon and the sirloin steak with some minor substitutions. The kids had chicken fingers (breaded with rice crumbs) and French fries. All of our food came out piping hot and fairly quickly. Everyone liked their meals. The kids especially loved the French fries (perhaps because they never get them at home!).
For dessert the kids had chocolate ice cream and the adult got two gluten free brownies to go. Laura was a hoot and did a good job taking care of the six tables in our area. She even reprimanded someone for using “potty mouth”. My only recommendation about the restaurant would be to redesign the bathroom, as it is very hard to get in and out of when it is crowded.

I had heard there was GF variety here, so I wanted to try it. I really wanted a flatbread (I haven't had pizza for a long time!) but they had Amy's GF pizza. I asked for it well done. It was okay, but it still was kinda soft in the middle. They brought the GF rolls. I know everyone has opinions of these (too hard, etc) but I was just glad to be eating bread. Being new to GF, I haven't explored all the bread options yet, so it's been awhile! Nice experience, staff very accomodating!
